WARNING

Sue has requested that the following post be added to the Website to warn
people that a local person is advertising kittens on Gumtree for the
extortionate price of £100-£200 (The Whinnybank price is normally £60). The
seller is also requesting a deposit and bank details prior to the sale.
Please be vigilant and on no account disclose your bank account
details to this individual.
There are fundamental health issues with these poor kittens as they have not
been vet checked or wormed and are susceptible to infection both bacterial and
viral. These type of infections generally have two outcomes – a lot of your hard
earned cash is used to pay vet bills and tragically the kitten does not survive.
The seller is using female cats as breeding machines to make a lot of money
quickly.
The Sanctuary asks that you be careful and patient in your pursuit of a kitten.
Normally kitten season starts around the beginning of June and start to come in to your local rescue centres.
Thanks again for your patience and understanding.
