Whinnybank News

So far Sue has managed to trap 6 of the cats at her friend’s smallholding in Aberdeen. The farmland around the cottage is crawling with rabbits which means that sadly, any kittens are in danger from predators. In their favour, Caroline always makes sure there is plenty of food in the barn for the kittens so they are not tempted to follow their Mum when she goes hunting. She also checks the traps twice a day & lets Sue know if any cats have been trapped. It is a 250 mile round trip but it was nice for Sue to see her friend of 60 years again. The trapped family have all been neutered – mum, dad & teenagers – & they will be going to a lovely new home at a Linlithgow smallholding. Sadly we have had to stop cats coming into Whinnybank just now as we have had cat flu. We are still homing cats who have not had to come in to the Sanctuary. Many thanks go to everyone for dropping off & sending cat food. We are a bit short of Solimo biscuits (Amazon’s own brand) – if anyone would like to donate some they can be ordered through our Amazon wishlist.

If you can offer a home to a cat, help at fundraising events, in our shops or at the sanctuary, please call Sue on 01337 840414, or see us online at
