Whinnybank News

Sue has been busy with the ferals on the farm near Perth – there are about 15 cats in total, 2 males & the rest all pregnant females! She has caught 8 females so far & 4 litters have been born at the Sanctuary already – sadly they are all too far on in their pregnancies for the litters to be aborted. Sue is on a knife edge as if one of her ferals comes home with a cold she could lose all the kittens. Feral mums under stress have also been known to destroy their kittens if they feel threatened. It has been a long time since Sue has had to live this nightmare! A domestic mum & her kittens have come in from Leven – thanks to Marie for picking them up & seeing them through to their rehoming. Returning from Tayport on Sunday, Sue spotted the mum of the 3 black kittens she picked up in Wormit 3 weeks ago – she is heavily pregnant! She is definitely a domestic cat so the kittens will not be feral. She has also had a call from a farmer at Auchtertool – 1 of his ferals has had 6 kittens & he needs help homing them. The Sanctuary is full to bursting so Sue is appealing for lots of food please.
