Whinnybank News
The materials for our new isolation block arrived as planned. Sue is so grateful to the workmen who are building it in their spare time, so it will take a while for it to be completed. That is just the outer shell and then we will have to raise more funds for a pvc run inside the isolation block so we can keep everything sanitised.
The license requires that every cat coming into Whinnybank needs to be in isolation first but with Sue’s extensive knowledge she knows that cat flu will show up within 5 days and enteritis will show up in 10 days. This means that no cat will need to be in there for a very long period. Most cats who carry enteritis are from farms. Hopefully the license people will be happy with what we have done.
We are waiting on them to visit kitten Linda to assess her home suitability for caring for and homing kittens. We have lots of kittens waiting to come in, waiting for Linda’s license to be approved. We will keep you posted. If Linda is able to have a license then we can at last start re-homing cats from their own homes again – this will be the main way that we re-home a lot of cats in the future anyway as it is far less stressful for not just the cat but the owner too. We will be posting photos of the process so far on our FB page at facebook.com/Whinnybank Sue asks for people to please keep the cat food coming.
