Whinnybank News

We have paid for our License from Fife Council – now we need to make Whinnybank what they require. We have ordered all the materials for our isolation block, which will be delivered on 25 July. Hopefully the dry weather will continue so that we can start on building it soon. Like last year, every sanctuary is full and it is so hard to have to say “No, I can’t help you at the moment.”  People are getting so desperate that they are calling Sue in the night to the point that she now has to switch her phone off from 10pm to 6am. Just 3 examples of these night-time calls are: people high on drugs wanting kittens at 1am; a 2am caller saying “if you don’t come and get my cat now I’m throwing him out the door”;  and a 3am call from a lady saying that her mum cat with 5 kittens had just keeled over and died. The poor lady was so distraught but Sue had to pass her onto the SSPCA.

Sue is appealing for food –  Whiskas, both “One-year plus” and “Kitten 2-12months” and also Felix Original – both Kitten and Adult varieties please. Thank you to the kind person who sent a box of carrier bags. The amount of people who come into our shop without a bag is unreal so Thank You!
