Whinnybank News

Sue is very grateful for all the support she has received re Fife Council’s Licensing fee request as per Scottish Government legislation. We have discovered that we are able to keep up to 8 cats for re-homing up at Whinnybank, we currently have only 4 cats in pens waiting to go to their new homes. Most of our re-homing has already been moved online as it is less stressful for cats to be homed from their current home than for them to be uprooted to be brought to Whinnybank and then uprooted again to go to their new home. The feral residents are Sue’s own cats – they get lots of regular visitors, the volunteers help with feeding and, being feral, they are free to leave if they wish, which of course they don’t because at Whinnybank they are getting food and shelter as well as freedom. Our old pens have done us proud for the past 25 years, especially as they were 2nd hand when we got them, but they do now need replacing. We have plenty help lined up to remove the old pens. We are also doing really well with raising the funds for the new pens as we already have £8,000 of the £25,000 we need  – thank you all so much! We desperately need knitting wool please, if anyone has any spare. And carrier bags of course, especially larger ones.
