FIFE HERALD
NEWBURGH
WHINNYBANK CAT SANCTUARY

Just in case you don’t already know, Sue is now 80!! She hopes she will have 5 more active years in her and she would now like to concentrate on mainly feral cat work, with some strays as well. Sue has so much experience with ferals that other rescues already pass feral calls on to her. We will continue to help with re-homing domestic cats through our website, Facebook and CatChat pages. We have 8 fosterers, who will continue to take in mums with kittens and young cats. We will no longer be accepting domestic cats into the Sanctuary and calls re domestics will be passed on to other rescues.

Sue has been very busy with the cat flu, which has spread very quickly. Two young feral females came down with Calici Virus, the worst form, and they refused to eat as their mouths, noses & throats were full of ulcers – they had to be given painkillers to be able to be syringe fed until they were able to eat normally. Sadly, one of them has passed away but her sister is now doing really well. Kitten season is still in full swing – we have never had it so busy so late in the year before! We are so thankful for all our fosterers!

Whinnybank has received 160 parcels from Amazon since our Facebook Appeal last Wednesday! One of Sue’s worst fears is getting snowed in without a good stock of food and litter for the cats so she is so very grateful for the generosity of so many very kind people! Many thanks to all for the donations of money which will go towards our vet bills.
