Whinnybank News
Sue has had calls from 3 people wanting her to re-home their house cats – none of them are neutered! Do they realise that an un-neutered tom cat will start to smell after 2 years, and a female that has not been neutered is at a much higher risk of getting hormone-dependant cancers eg of the ovaries or mammary glands. Please, even if your cat is a house cat, get him/her neutered to protect their future health. We always ensure that any cats re-homed from Whinnybank are neutered, vaccinated, microchipped (now a legal requirement), de-wormed and treated for fleas. Eldery cat Felix was handed in to us just over a week ago after his owner sadly died. Despite being 24 years old he is in good health and will be staying at Whinnybank – he is in the new building where there is plenty of space, he has food on tap and will have heating in the winter. He has already made lots of new friends! Thanks again for all the donations of food and blankets. We now have plenty of radios, thank you.
