Whinnybank News

Unsurprisingly, the wind and rain of recent Storm ‘Henk’ stressed the cats at Whinnybank with the noise on the barn roof and we had difficulty keeping the barn dry. Sue had an emergency call at teatime the next day from a very stressed young lady – her first words were “you are the only rescue to answer the phone” Her cat and kittens were in a bad place and needed to be picked up immediately. The roads were still flooded in places but Sue’s son Steven is a very experienced driver so he managed to take Sue to pick up the very colourful family and they were no worse for their journey back to Whinnybank 🙂 We have a lovely lady, Jan Smart of Auchtermuchty, who takes dolls that come in to us covered in felt tip pen, glue, nail varnish etc – she cleans them up and knits outfits for them so we can sell them to raise funds. She is short on double knitting wool in all colours and knitting patterns for clothes for small dolls – if you have any to spare they can be can be dropped off at our shops in Auchtermuchty and Newburgh and would be very gratefully received.

If you can offer a home to a cat, help at fundraising events, in our shops or at the sanctuary, please call Sue on 01337 840414, or see us online at www.catchat.org/whinnybank and www.whinnybank.org.uk
