Whinnybank News

Sue’s helpers up at Whinnybank do get very fond of the cats. It is very rewarding work as they see them when they first come in, some in a terrible state, and make friends with them while they are there. The helpers also often come in when cats are going to their new homes so that they can say goodbye and wish them well. Sadly we have a virus up at the Sanctuary just now. This is what can happen when strays who are not vaccinated are coming in off the streets. In an ideal world we would have a dedicated isolation unit but we just don’t have the funds. We will do the only things we can do at the moment – get any cats vet treatment if needed and make sure they all get as much TLC as we can give them. The virus is not a killer but it does mean a lot of extra work, particularly encouraging them to eat. Of course, we will put any cats coming in on hold for the time being.

If you can offer a home to a cat, help at fundraising events, in our shops or at the sanctuary, please call Sue on 01337 840414, or see us online at www.catchat.org/whinnybank and www.whinnybank.org.uk
