Whinnybank News

Sue quite simply cannot cope with all the calls coming in from people asking her to take their cats away. She is having to deal with the most serious ones just now and is very worried that other people may start dumping their cats. Every rescue seems to be in the same situation, which is not only sad but very worrying. We are now getting a lot of calls from Dundee as CP (Cats Protection) is no longer there. Unbeknown to Sue a CP person from Forfar was called in by someone to trap a mum and kittens in St Andrews. Unfortunately they trapped 3 adults (one of which was Rusty’s mum) but none of the kittens. Two of the adults were neutered and returned and the 3rd, which had a bad skin condition, was kept by the CP lady – for which Sue was very appreciative. Sue has been trapping and neutering in St Andrews for years and someone else trapping just confuses the issue as these cats were already feeding at Sue’s feeding & trapping station. To avoid future confusion, CP Forfar have agreed to cover Dundee and leave St Andrews to Sue, who will continue to monitor and keep a look out for the kittens (probably about 9 weeks old) so they can also be trapped and neutered.
