Whinnybank News
Well, what a weekend Sue has had!! Saturday morning brought a major flood to the Sanctuary – Sue thought they had avoided it, being higher up, but all the water from the higher ground decided to gather in the barn where the cat pens are. Thankfully there were no cat casualties as they climbed up high but, of course, all their bedding was soaking wet. Sue didn’t know whether to laugh or cry as she stood in water 2 feet deep and watched food dishes and litter trays float around her. The only happy souls were the ducks! A big thank you for all the generous donations of food, litter and money – we were too busy clearing up after the flood to open our Newburgh fundraising shop that day. Steven managed to rescue a very lucky 6 week old kitten from a tree near a farm this week – Sue is now on a mission to find out where the mum has taken the other kittens, and to neuter both the mum and the big white tom cat who is obviously the dad. We are very short of carrier bags so if anyone has any to spare we would really appreciate them.
