Whinnybank News

Sue is getting a lot of phone calls about feral toms making nuisances of themselves, being aggressive towards people as well as domestic cats. She has had 6 calls in 2 weeks from Dunfermline, Kirkcaldy, Scotlandwell, St Andrews, Bellingry & Cowdenbeath. It is normal for feral toms to behave like this at this time of year – they are usually dormant between November & February which we used to think was because of the cold weather but experience has revealed that it is more to do with the shortage of daylight hours. As more female cats are being neutered the un-neutered toms are getting more frustrated! Sue has great experience in dealing with these nuisance cats & she has managed to trap 3 of them already. Thanks go to Mark from Newburgh carpet shop for his donation of carpet squares – they provide good insulation under the cat beds; & to Dino’s for their donation of toys, books & bric-a-brac.

If you can offer a home to a cat, help at fundraising events, in our shops or at the sanctuary, please call Sue on 01337 840414, or see us online at www.catchat.org/adoption/fife.html & www.whinnybank.org.uk
