Sue hopes that all the Whinnybank supporters have had a good break over the festive season and aren’t suffering too much with the ‘Siberian’ weather we are having! Rupert the traveller went off again on the last day of December – he must be crazy to not stay put in this awful weather – the call of the wild must be too strong for him! Kittens are still coming in – we have a litter due in soon. Some of the cats listed on our cat chat page are booked for new homes but it remains to be seen when their new owners will be able to collect them.
Smokey, a cat belonging to Linda & Kevin, our fosterers from Auchterarder, went missing two weeks ago and eventually turned up this week with a badly mangled leg. It is pretty certain that he had been caught in a trap and eventually managed to free himself or was released. Sadly, he will lose his leg – but his other feet, which were badly frost-bitten, will recover. He also lost ¾ of his body weight! Linda & Kevin are just relieved to have him back home and will be giving him lots of TLC.
Wanted – jumpers for the cats to snuggle up in – although we have plenty of duvets we also need small warm items for their beds. Also wanted – wood for
the granny cat’s burner – we’ll happily consider whole trees. Our chainsaw is playing up so if anyone has one they don’t really use we can put it to good use!
Many thanks again for all the donations of cat food, monies and bric-a-brac over the holiday period. The Newburgh raffle prizes will be delivered as soon as the weather allows.
